Monday, March 1: Freckles and
Paul spent the
day talking to all the students at Christ Lutheran
School in Phoenix AZ. Never have so many
youngsters asked so many great questions in so
few hours! We had such a great time there. Many
thanks to Judy and Frank Brouwer and their twin
sons (5th graders at Christ Lutheran) and to Jane
Blaile for all their help in pulling together this day
of Freckles' presentations!

Wednesday, March 3: We had a
wonderful day
at this elementary school in Ahwatukee AZ.
Freckles and Paul gave seven presentations to
youngsters from pre-school through 5th grade.
Many thanks to librarian Amy Hubbard and her
staff and all the teachers and volunteers and to
the administration for helping us have such a
memorable day!
The twelve gifts of marriage
Friday, March 5: Best-selling
author Charlene
Costanzo invited Trish, Freckles, and Paul to be
photographed today with some youngsters for
inclusion in her
upcoming book, The Twelve Gifts
of Marriage. While Trish and Paul needed help
from the makeup person, Freckles was perfect just
as she was! It was a great honor and a lot of
fun. Freckles made some new friends: Malik,
Gabrielle, and Alex, who posed with her.

Monday, March 8: A few weeks
ago, Trish and Paul
read an article in the Arizona Republic about a young
girl named Daffodil. Daffodil, it seems, excels at just
about everything she tries -- including golf. She just
recently took up the sport and has already won two
tournaments! We sent her a Freckles book for
Valentine's Day. When she and her father called to
thank us, she said the story touched her heart and
that she hoped she could meet Freckles someday.
Today was the day. Paul and Trish took Freckles to
the golf course where Daffodil plays and takes
lessons. This young lady possesses a wonderful
spirit and will go far!

Tuesday, March 9: Freckles
had fun meeting hundreds
of students at this private elementary school in Ahwatukee
AZ. It was like a "media day" as the local CBS
affiliate,
KPHO-Channel 5, covered the talk and interviewed Paul
about his book Freckles. Trish, too, was interviewed
and
the story was on the 6 p.m. news. The Ahwatukee Foothills
News also had a photographer there covering Paul's
presentations. Many thanks to the administration of
Summit
School for allowing all this to happen! Here are Trish, Jeanne

Friday, March 19: Freckles
was in another photo shoot today
for another book for adults, this one by author Karin Winegar
and photographer Judy Olausen (these two teamed up in 1996
for a New York Times bestseller Mother that landed them on
The Oprah
Show and other national television shows). Their
new book is
about abandoned animals that are rescued and
are now helping
humans. For this photo shoot, Freckles had
to go back to jail
and reenact her adoption day!
Trish shows the jail cell where it
all started. Freckles said, "Okay,
can we go home now?"

Saturday, March 20: Freckles
and Paul made a
return appearance at this Mesa AZ museum and
met a lot of animal lovers of all ages. Here are some
of Freckles' newest friends giving her lots of love.

Saturday & Sunday, March 27-28:
At the Mesa and Biltmore
stores, Freckles, Trish, and Paul meets dozens of great
teachers at this event sponsored by Borders in which
teachers and other educators are given a 25% discount off
everything in the store. It's a wonderful way to stay "thank
you" for all the great work with youngsters they do day in
and day out.
