Saturday, September 16:
Freckles, Trish, and Paul
met with some older patients this time, some were
maybe as old as 17! It was a great visit once again
to Mission Hospitals
in Asheville NC. We shared
the fun with Melanie and her super chihuahua Luther.
Freckles and Luther got in bed together with the kids.

Tuesday, September 19:
Paul was a guest on an
hour-long Internet talk radio show. The topic of the
day was compassion as evidenced through the
human-animal connection.
upward elementary
Tuesday, September 26:
Paul and Freckles and Trish
spoke
to the 650 students at Upward Elementary
School in Flat Rock NC. This was one of the most
extraordinary days ever! Not only were the kids great
and the teachers so receptive, there was also a
special surprise when Lynn Shipman (Josh's mom)
came into the gymnasium where we were. This was
Josh's school. She had with her a large blanket made
for her by the caring folks at Mission Hospital where
her son had spent so much time before he passed
away. It was at Mission Hospital that Freckles got to
know Josh. The picture of the two of them together
was made into the blanket that she was carrying.
Wow.

Coach who arranged for our visit!
We made some special classroom visits while we
were there, too.
Everyone LOVED meeting Freckles and LeegleBeagle!
